The last Remembrance Day ceremony took place on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 3:30 pm at the war cemetery in Niederbronn-les-Bains. As every year, we commemorated the victims of war and violence around the world. All interested parties are invited to the public event.
We must never forget what was yesterday, what was 80 years ago could be tomorrow,” warned Christopher Schaak, Mayor of the municipality of Dobel, at the Remembrance Day ceremony at the German War Cemetery in Niederbronn.
Susan Keller, German consul in Strasbourg, opened this year's commemoration, while Jan-Peter Röderer, member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament, gave the commemorative speech.
Forian Brielmayer, a volunteer at the IYMC Albert Schweitzer, expressed confidence in his speech despite the current conflicts in the world, as even Germany and France, once considered “hereditary enemies”, are now working closely together.
