Volunteer Work at CIAS
The Centre International Albert Schweitzer (CIAS) in Niederbronn-les-Bains offers the opportunity to spend a year volunteering in the heart of Alsace.
Joining us as a volunteer means choosing a human, intercultural, and enriching experience—as part of a team dedicated to education, European citizenship, and peace.
Throughout your volunteer service, you’ll actively participate in the life of the CIAS. You’ll help supervise international groups, organize activities and intercultural encounters, carry out educational projects, and contribute to the further development of the CIAS’s initiatives. Every assignment offers you the opportunity to take the initiative and grow in a multicultural environment.
You’ll develop new skills, gain independence, learn French, discover a different culture, and help supervise youth groups from Germany and France—and occasionally from other countries as well.
This experience will allow you to acquire skills in communication, facilitation, project management, and teamwork, while giving meaning to your commitment.
CIAS is looking for a curious, motivated, and open-minded person who is interested in history and willing to get involved in a community project. By working with CIAS, you’ll help promote intercultural dialogue, solidarity, and European values. At the same time, you’ll gain experiences that will have a lasting impact on your personal and professional development.
Duration: 10 to 12 months.
Start date: between September and December 2026
